Grameen ICT Center Nohata, Magura |
‘Grameen ICT Center, Nohata’ is a partnership implemented by Grameen Communications (GC) and funded by SPIDER (The Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions), aimed to enhance the provision of healthcare in rural communities and support socioeconomic development.
In developing countries, the acute shortage of qualified doctors and absolute lack of diagnostic medical technology can be met with the potentials of ICT. ICTs can be used as tools to enable desired changes in the performance of institutions and markets, and in the livelihoods of the poor, leading to poverty reduction and sustainable development. The ‘ICT in Rural Development in Bangladesh’ project operates on this premise to create a significant impact in the health sector and contribute to socioeconomic development in Bangladesh by combining innovative technologies with appropriate capacity building.
